Overview
Sporty and muscular appearance
PT Cruiser is Chrysler's distinctive and unique retro-styled wagon with four to five passenger seating capacity. The PT Cruiser is built and designed on the line of the Dodge Neon, a compact car known for lively and energetic performance. PT Cruiser offers excellent performance, amazing versatility, and an elegant appearance.

The PT Cruiser is modified with some changes to enhance its sporty and muscular look. The 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser adds more standard equipment including standard remote keyless entry and a soft-touch electric lift-gate, console flood light, new ‘YES’ Essential seat fabrics.

PT Cruiser has relied on numerous special editions, restyled versatile interior, and turbocharged engines to face the competition posed by its rivals. Chrysler says the retro-styled, front-wheel-drive PT Cruiser combines the elements of a sedan, wagon, sport utility vehicle, and minivan.

The PT Cruiser competes with the Chevrolet HHR, the Ford Focus ZX5, and the Mazda 3 hatchback. It has a basic warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles and an EPA rated fuel economy of 22/29 mpg (city/highway).

Engine and Performance
Powerful and turbocharged version
PT Cruiser delivers a thrilling and exhilarating driving experience with three available engines.

The PT Cruiser GT trim gets a 2.4-liter high output intercooled turbocharged engine that generates 230 hp and 245 lb-ft. of torque. The standard transmission on the GT trim is a Getrag five-speed manual transaxle, but you have an option to couple the GT trim with a four-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick. Either transmission provides a 27 mpg fuel economy on the highway.

The PT Cruiser Limited edition comes with an available 2.4-liter intercooled turbocharged engine that produces 180 hp and 210 lb-ft. of torque. The standard four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive helps deliver a 29 mpg highway rating and is standard on Limited edition models.

PT Cruiser's standard 2.4-liter 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder engine offers an impressive 29 mpg on the highway while producing 150 hp and 165 lb-ft. of torque. It is mated to a standard five-speed manual transaxle and is standard on the Base PT Cruiser, Limited edition, and Touring edition.

Walk-around
Nostalgic appearance with refined design accents
The newly designed PT Cruiser's fresh and evocative appearance reminds you of 1930/40's American auto styling. Brilliant and well-conceived design cues and refined design accents easily allow it to mingle and compete effortlessly with today’s advanced and ultra-modern vehicles. PT Cruiser with its retro-inspired style and charm grabs the attention of driving enthusiasts and car lovers.

Bulging fenders are among the few attractions of this car. Fender-mounted elegantly designed halogen quad headlights, taillights, and wide egg-crate grille give the PT Cruiser a unique look. The PT Cruiser has a 103-inch wheelbase, is 168.9 inches long overall, and is 63 inches tall. A liftgate-mounted sportive spoiler is standard on the GT and optional on the Limited. Additional GT features include a large-diameter chrome exhaust tip and All-season performance tires on 17-inch chrome-clad wheels.

Bright front doorsill scuff pads available in the option package add style and help to prevent scratches from appearing on the doorsill while getting in and out. Power moonroof with express open is optional on the Touring trim and standard on the Limited and GT trims.

Standard features include rear window defroster, sliding sun visors with illuminated vanity mirror details, variable intermittent windshield wipers, front power windows with one-touch-down feature, and solar-control glass.

Comfort, Controls & Convenience
Luxurious and roomy interior
The interior of the PT Cruiser is designed in unique retro-inspired style with fine luxurious amenities. The interior is roomy and versatile offering enough space to carry luggage while accommodating about five people. PT Cruiser offers plenty of features designed and fitted to allow the occupants to enjoy the ride.

The available fold-flat front passenger seats and rear seats allow you to haul bulk luggage when the number of passengers are small. The interior offers incredible cargo space after folding the rear seats completely. Removing the rear seat expands cargo volume from a moderate 21.6 cubic feet to a sizable 62.7 cubic feet. PT Cruiser's innovative retro-inspired interior design features a standard satin silver instrument panel.

Standard equipment includes remote keyless entry, power windows, and a CD stereo. Leather steering wheel with bright spokes, bright pedals, and sport leather-trimmed bucket seats come standard on the GT. Leather-wrapped steering wheel, YES Essentials stain and odor resistant seat fabric come standard on the Limited. A 6-way power driver's seat is standard on the Limited and GT. Manually adjustable seats and cloth low-back bucket seats are standard on the Touring.

Standard features include tilt steering column, front and rear climate-control outlets, glove box, air conditioning, analog clock, vehicle information center, keyless entry, power windows, AM/FM stereo, and a CD player with six speakers.

Driving Impressions
Decent acceleration and responsive handling
Though the base-engine PT Cruiser is far from overpowering, its performance is more satisfying than some critics suggest. Throttle response is rapid, even if the action that follows is a little lackadaisical. As expected, the high-output turbocharged GT delivers responsive performance.

The PT Cruiser's excellent handling is not only responsive but also confident and nimble. This wagon rides with utter crispness and negotiates corners with impressive speed, though the body lean during curves is noticeable. The PT Cruiser is exceptionally easy and fun to drive.

The PT Cruiser is a blend of impressive power, smooth steering, and great fuel economy. PT Cruiser delivers above average acceleration and a thrilling and pleasurable driving experience.

Safety
Armed with advanced safety features
The PT Cruiser consists of advanced and standard safety features that speak volumes about the commitment of Chrysler to infuse a comforting sense of safety and security among passengers. This includes safety features like advanced multi-stage airbags.

Standard features include performance anti-lock 4-wheel disc brakes, a LATCH-ready child seat anchor system, a remote keyless entry system with panic alarm, a Sentry Key theft-deterrent system, advanced multistage front air bags, supplemental side air bags, and rear door child protection locks. GT comes standard with traction control.
